Gary W. Cook, 66, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away October 1, 2011, in Kansas City, Mo.
Gary was born August 21, 1945, to Vester and Jessic Faye (Clark) Cook in Sikeston, Mo. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo. and attended South East Missouri State University. He was a Navy veteran and then worked as an Engineer for Harmon Industries. Gary was united in Marriage to Deborah Martin on January 30, 1982. He loved fishing, NASCAR, football, fast pitch softball, and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kelly Metoyer; and a sister, Patricia Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah, of the home; a son, Gary Cook, Jr., and wife, Laura, of Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter, Jamie Turner, of Independence, Mo.; sister, Shirley Heffner and husband, Vernon, of Independence, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Service for Gary will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, MO, Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contribution, in memory of Gary, may be made to the American Heart Association, Inurnment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo.
