To Those I Love When I am gone, release me, let me go I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each of you have shown. But now it's time to travel on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust, it's only for a while that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart, I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me call and I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart you'll hear All of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile, and say, "Welcome Home."

I believe it was in 1965, I remember walking down the street in Wiesbaden, Germany, and heard someone call my name.  It was Howard.  We spent some time updating each other on post-graduation days and we went our separate ways never to see each other again.  Rest in peace, Howard.

I liked Howie. Sorry to hear about this. What a wonderful, tender message he wrote to his family and posterity!

I did not know Howie......as you say Dave.  I read his special paragraph and I must say it was very touching.  I did spend some time with Jim MacDonald in Saigon, Vietnam; however.  He was in the Navy.  He was a Commander on something like a PT Boat roaming the Rivers around Vietnam.  If I am wrong Jim, give me a correction.
