Barbara Musgrave

Barbara was born to Jack and Gussie Ferguson in Versailles, Missouri. She graduated in 1963 from William Chrisman High School, and earned summa cum laude bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Missouri State University. She worked as a legal secretary and later taught secretarial science at UMKC.

Barbara and Ken were married on July 29, 1978, and they recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. With this union she dedicated herself to being a loving wife, as well as a caring mom and later a cherished grandma. Each dog to grace the family’s home was also blessed by her love and affection.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ken; children, Kendra (John Yocum) and Rob (Michelle); two granddaughters; her loyal, beloved companion, Mocha; and three brothers: Lanny, Kirby (Tammy), and Chris.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society or your local animal shelter in honor of Barbara’s lifelong love of animals.

A memorial gathering is scheduled for Thursday, September 27th from 6-8 pm at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050.
