Robert "Bob" Lee Skaggs

Robert "Bob" Lee Skaggs, 75, of Jefferson City, died on December 6, 2020, due to complications of dementia plus pneumonia from the Coronavirus. Bob, the son of Virgil E. and Bertha J. Skaggs, was born on February 10, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri, in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1971. He met Gayle Saunders while in college and they were married on June 1, 1974, at Warrensburg, Missouri. Following graduation from Central Missouri State University with a B.S. in art and biology and an MSE in art education, Bob taught art in various schools in Missouri including Hannibal LaGrange College, Hannibal, Missouri. Bob loved the Lord and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He loved to serve by making props and sets for productions and Vacation Bible School. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gayle; daughters, Elizabeth Anne (Kirk) Stabler, Dumfries, Virginia, and Sarah Christine (Donnie) Taylor, Sunset, Texas; four grandchildren, Danielle Taylor, Austin, Texas, Devyn Taylor, Denton, Texas, Ainsley and Luke Stabler, Dumfries, Virginia; brother, Virgil E. Skaggs Jr.(Carol), Oak Grove; and sister, Barbara J. Cooper (Cecil); and beloved sister-in-law, Carol Easley, Liberty. No service is planned at this time.
