Dana Rae Geiler, 48, Blue Springs, died Nov. 25, 1993, at the hospital in Osage Beach, Mo. Mrs. Geiler was a lifelong area resident. She was a secretary for the University of Kansas Medical Center for two years. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Geiler of the home; a daughter, Goldie Pickering, Flagstaff, Ariz.; two sons, Austin Pickering, Blue Springs, and Russell Abbiatti of the home; her parents, E.C. Austin Jr. and Erma Austin of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and two brothers, Cam Austin, Edinboro, Pa., and Riley Austin, Manhattan, N.Y.
Just when we had reconnected after so many years, I lost her. Dana's kindness and compassion live on, along with many memories of her picking me up to go to the Jackson County Library to research on Saturdays. We had to go to the basement of what I think was the Earle Hotel. Oh, how happy we would be today with the magnificent books, research materials, and non-musty atmosphere. I am happy to count her among my good friends; a more loyal person could not be found. Love to her in the great beyond!
