John G. Hill, 48, Independence died at the his home. Mr. Hill was born in Los Angeles and lived the this area most of his life. He formerly worked at the Amoco Oil Co. Sugar Creek refinery. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Liberty Street RLDS Church of Independence. His survivors include his wife Linda Hill of the home; a son John C. Hill, Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Danielle Lewis, Gloucester, Va., and Michelle Hill, Independence; a brother, Gill Totten, Cupertino, Calf.; sister, Debbie Patterson, Independence; and three granddaughters.
