Joseph D. Livesay, born May 10, 1945 in Independence, MO to Strother Ewing and Mary Ella (Dwight) Livesay, passed away on January 3, 2011 at the Hospice of Boulder County in Lafayette. Loving husband of Sonja for over 42 years, devoted father to Angela Ransom of Thornton, CO, David Livesay of Seattle, WA, and Daniel Livesay of Williamsburg, VA, and proud grandfather to Lindsay Ransom. He is survived by his brother John Livesay of Independence, MO. Joe worked for over 31 years as a Chemical Engineer with Amoco Corporation after graduating from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was a registered Professional Engineer and also held an MBA. Joe loved living near the Rocky Mountains and was an avid outdoorsman and photographer. His faith in God was central to his life and he actively served the church. After moving to Longmont in 2000 he attended LifeBridge Christian Church. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 8 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hospice of Boulder County in Lafayette.
