Phyllis Myers (Doerr)

Phyllis (Tee) Louise Myers-Doerr 76 of Odessa MO. went to meet her Lord and savior on Wed. Sept. 15th at St. Luke’s East Hospital with loved ones by her side.

She was born on Feb. 15th, 1945 in Harrisburg Arkansas to Rev. Charles and Myrtle Myers. Phyllis spent most of her life in Indep. MO. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1963. She retired from the City of Indep. with over 30 years of service.

Tee enjoyed 31 years with her loving husband Jerry Doerr before losing him in 2008. They loved to travel all over the country in their RV. Some of her favorite things in life were camping, fishing, hunting, singing, dancing, and working in her yard. She also loved her pets and helped many strays.

After losing her husband, Tee met Roger Owsley (RD) which she cared for deeply. Spending 12 yrs. together they enjoyed hosting Music jam sessions with their friends, going to concerts, car shows and loved cooking together.

Tee was a force to be reckoned with a personality that would light up a room. Although she had no biological children, she mothered all. She was not a bit shy to give her opinion, and very compassionate with all that she did. Tee was a devout Christian and loved helping everyone. She was a very loving, caring person, and loved all her family and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters, niece, and nephew’s. Also, many fur babies.

Phyllis is survived by 4 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters in laws, many nieces, nephews and her companion, his children & grandchildren as well as many numerous friends and neighbors who thought of her dearly.

She was the matriarch of our family and we will be struggling to comprehend the void left by her passing, yet we take comfort in her memory and know she is in the arms of the lord.

Forever our love until we meet again.

A visitation will be held from 9-10am Thursday, Sept. 23rd with a funeral service following at 10:00am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
