Obituary for Janice Weir

Janice Colleen Weir, 69, passed away on February 15, 2015, in Independence, MO. She was born on March 4, 1945, in Independence, MO, to William V. and Goldie E. (Curtis) Weir.

Janice graduated with a Master’s degree in Library Science from CMSU-Warrensburg, and taught 2nd and 3rd grade for Cler-Mont Elementary School for a few years. She later became a librarian at Fort Osage, as well as Missouri Valley College and Independence, KS. She loved cheering for the KC Royals and the Chiefs, making cards, collecting stamps, and cooking. She could always make her family and friends laugh, and is well-loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Goldie, and her friend, Larry Martin. She was preceded in death by her father, William.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, from 12-2pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO, 64052. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday at Mound Grove Cemetery.
