Kansas City, Missouri - Sharon McKay passed away on May 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Sharon was born on July 19, 1945 to Richard and Frances Lasister and spent her entire life in the Kansas City, MO area.
When she was 16 years old, she started working for the Sears, Roebuck & Company, retiring on October 31, 2002, with 41 years of service. During her time with Sears, she managed many departments at the Cleveland and Bannister stores where she also met her husband, Robert McKay. They were married on June 16, 1984.
Sharon was very active, and her hobbies were numerous, including bowling and golf, and was a Course Marshall at Teetering Rocks Golf Course. She spent many hours working in her yard and flowerbeds. In addition, she was a very talented artist, and loved to paint. She was a true animal lover and had numerous pets over the years. One of Sharon's truly distinguishing personality traits was that she was the life of any party and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and attended monthly Bunko and Bingo parties. She was quick-witted and always had a hilarious comment ready to share. She truly made everyone around her feel light-hearted and carefree with her easy-going personality. Sharon attended church and was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert McKay. She is survived by her dear friend and companion, Ray Clevenger, who never left her side; her sister-in-law, Linda Robertson; nieces, Lacey Moser and Chanelle Hill; great nephews, Troy and Ryan Hill and great niece, Molly Moser.

Visitation will be on Wed., May 26, 2021 from 10-11am and funeral services at 11am at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City MO. A private graveside service will be held immediately following. Online condolences to www.mcgilleysheil.com.
