Christine and I attened the same church throughout my growing-up years. She was a nice girl from a nice family of English immigrants. My late mother loved telling the story that when I was five year old I declared I would marry Christine. My mother asked if I would leave her to be with Chritine and I apparently replied: "No, I'll build a house out in the driveway so I'll still be close to you, Mom."
I also had a poor sense of perspective on history as a young lad. I knew that some people from England came to America on the Mayflower. I therefore assumed, as a little tyke, that meant all English people, so I was of the impression that Christine and her family came on the Mayflower. I think I got that straightened out in my mind by the time I was 70-----------I mean 7 (or 8).
As I recall Christine had a dramatic flair and was doing some stand-up comedy in anther state before stand-up was as in vogue as it now seems to be. Her brother Collin was a brainiac with advanced degrees from prestigious schools. I think he was n economist. Christine and Collin were well spoken but did not have that delightful Brit accent their parents had.
It appears Christine's death happened many months ago but news travels slowly to Arizona where I now live.
Rest in peace Christine!

Dave, I did not recognize the name and searched for Christine in the 1963 Yearbook, but did not find her. Perhaps I need to go back to 1962. Our luncheon is on the 23rd this month. I noticed you haven't made your reservation yet. Are you coming or not?

Cal, Christine was last in the Gleam in 1961.

My memory is vague as to why she would not have been in the later yearbooks. When I would visit my parents in Missouri over the years and attend church services with them I would occasionally see Christine and her family.
